It is a waste of time to create a lesson plan for "public school, without special needs students." There will be special needs students in your classroom.
Will this lesson really require 45 minutes a day for 5 days?
I noticed your plan for Friday is to have each group tell the rest of the class what they learned the day before. Didn't they all learn the same thing? After the first group goes, the other groups will just piggyback off the first group. In the meantime, the students who are not presenting will not be paying attention.

Incorporating writing is a very good idea.
